The Well Paper is a publication for readers who would rather understand their health than be hurried through it.

We write for people in the second half of life who enjoy a good long read and are tired of sensational headlines. Our pieces take their time. They begin with an ordinary moment, explain what the research suggests, and close with something practical to carry into the week.

What we cover

Men's health, the heart, blood sugar, weight, the mind and sleep, and the long project of aging well. The subjects are familiar; we try to treat them with patience and care.

How we work

Our articles are based on published research and trusted health sources, and each one lists those sources at the end so you can read further. When the evidence changes, we revise the piece and note the date. You can read more in our editorial standards.

What we are not

We are not a substitute for your physician. Nothing here is medical advice, and every piece is written to help you have a better conversation with your own doctor. Please read our medical disclaimer.

Our authors

On products

Most of what we publish has nothing to do with products. On the rare occasion a piece concerns a specific product, it says so at the very top, together with our commercial relationship.
